Construction of the Factory Warehouse
Antônio Carlos Lima Costa is the founder of Bebidas Quinarí. Born in the state of Acre, he is married and a father of five. Coming from a humble background, he has worked in various fields, each very different from the other. He has owned a repair shop, a motel, a taxi service, and an ice cream parlor. A natural-born entrepreneur, he was always in search of new challenges.
Owning a soft drink factory had always been his dream. In 2006, at the height of his 54 years, he began turning that dream into reality, bravely diving into the world of beverage production and learning as he went. At first, he faced challenges finding land in Rio Branco to set up the factory. Then, he was invited by the mayor of Senador Guiomard at the time to build the factory there. Turning that lemon into lemonade, the company—originally going to be called 'Refrigerantes Lider'—was renamed 'Refrigerantes Quinarí' in tribute to the city that welcomed him.
He found good people who helped him at the beginning of this journey. He bought machinery, built the warehouse, set up the factory, completed all the legal procedures, and began testing the soft drinks. Finally, in 2008, he started selling in Senador Guiomard, Plácido de Castro, Acrelândia, and Sena Madureira, as well as to a few distributors who came to buy directly from the factory.
Three months after opening the factory, he considered shutting it down. He was discouraged by the low sales and even received offers to buy the business. However, none of the offers met the value he expected. That’s when he decided to fully commit to making the factory work, knowing it could be worth much more. In 2009, he began selling in Rio Branco. Sales increased slightly, and he tried once more to sell the factory—but the buyer repeated the same offer. He replied that the factory was no longer for sale.In 2010, sales grew so much that the original equipment could no longer meet demand. This led to an expansion and modernization of the machinery, which once again boosted both production and sales. Today, Bebidas Quinarí is a true success story, constantly innovating, present throughout the state of Acre, growing every day, creating jobs, and always evolving.
